All are welcome here.

I want to warmly welcome you to my private practice. My name is Julie Evans, and I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist in Tennessee (License #1134). For almost 16 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting diverse individuals, couples, and families on their therapeutic journeys. I currently offer therapy through a secure telehealth platform and invite you to explore my website.  My specialities and passions include:

* trauma

* attachment

* couples therapy (including premarital therapy)

* anxiety

* depression

* narcissistic abuse recovery

* perinatal mental health

* grief and loss

* eating disorder recovery

* 12 step recovery

* codependency

I believe that when we share our stories, we realize how much more alike we are than different. My own journey in therapy began at 15, when I was struggling with my relationship to food and my body. Working with a compassionate marriage and family therapist, in the midst of great emotional and physical pain, changed my life. I told myself that if I could ever make one person feel the way this therapist made me feel, I would forever be grateful. I felt seen and safe. I didn't feel crazy. I felt validated, respected, and understood. I had a place and space to unpack my pain and begin discovering my purpose. Even though it felt excruciatingly challenging as I peeled back layers of my world, I learned to trust the process and most importantly, I learned to trust myself. I was inspired by this initial experience in treatment, so much so that I knew deep in my heart and soul that I wanted to become a marriage and family therapist myself.

Over the years, my continued work in therapy has deepened my connection not only with my body but also with my mind, heart, and spirit. I haven't just learned to love my body; I have become embodied. I’ve learned how protective strategies that once kept me safe as a child could limit me as an adult. Through reconnection with my Core Self, I am able to live more authentically and have built healthier, more meaningful relationships.

Outside of my practice, I cherish time with my husband, our three daughters, son, and two dogs. One of our beautiful children was born with a severe hearing impairment, and I have had the honor and privilege of learning from and building connection with the Deaf community. Our family has been learning American Sign Language for the last three years as well, which has been deeply rewarding. I could live outdoors watching birds, sunrises, sunsets, and the moon. I enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, practicing yoga and movement, traveling, reading, and exploring spirituality. I am eager to connect with the different lessons my soul is meant to learn in this lifetime. Smiley faces, a delicious cup of coffee or matcha, fresh flowers, plants, a new candle, and chocolate also bring me great delight .
